What colour are you?

We used to play together and roam, 

  All my friends felt like home. 

We stayed together day and night, 

Shared our secret and our plight. 

I didn't care about my looks, 

We would read each other books. 

We were like best friends you see, 

Stood together no matter the situation would be. 

Puberty came and I grew up, 

Reality struck me like a truck. 

I was ugly and dark, 

That's what my friends called me in the park. 

I was no more part of their group, 

No fun was left with no more exciting whoops. 

Only fun was made of me, 

Nothing was same how it used to. 

From Jim, became I black,

"Ain't allowed around whites" was my new tag. 

Even my teachers saw me with vain,

All these changes were driving me insane. 

Neither my mom nor my dad, 

Could help me with the problem I had. 

They told me this is my fate, 

My skin colour,for decades,has been receiving this hate. 

The girl I fell in love was white, 

She rejected me at the very first sight. 

She mocked me with a scornful smile, 

She broke my heart which was already agile. 

Saw the news how George was killed, 

Is this really the way our society is built? 

I can't breath were his last words, 

But isn't being black really a curse?

Skin colour gives you superiority I thought, 

But doesn't your soul should get that slot. 

Took ages to learn about this, 

That loving yourself is a bliss. 

Don't care anymore about what people think, 

Because not their face but it's their soul that stinks. 

With all the hatred they carry on their shoulder, 

They don't realise beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. 

Skin colour doesn't but your soul makes you pretty, 

Only being white doesn't makes you witty. 

All my homies,I want to share with you all, 

It doesn't matter if you're black, white or tall. 

Love yourself and believe in you, 

This world, as much as theirs, is yours too. 

DIVINE LOVE

Saw him there across the street 

Holding a bouquet in his hand, 

For whom does he want to meet? 

Jumping with joyous laughter 

Looking like a happy kid, 

Let's see what happens after. 

Been a week seeing him here

Flowers are different, 

But smile is rebelliously rare. 

Who's the lucky girl, I wondered

She must be so pretty, 

That she is getting flowers daily, I pondered. 

My eagerness to know has exploded

To see the person, 

He is happy with, his beloved. 

I followed him quietly on the way

Could see him perplexed and, 

Practicing some lines to say. 

That was bizarre to see a guy 

young and handsome, 

For expressing his love being so shy. 

He's so handsome no girl will refute

And today is more special, 

Because he's wearing a suit. 

Here she comes, beautifully dressed

He held her hand, pulled her a seat, 

Something by which I'm already impressed. 

After a little talk,he knelt 

Pulled out the ring, 

And everybody's heart has melt. 

She said yes in taking no time

But I still couldn't see the face

I've wanted to,whose beauty is so fine. 

Finally after lot of shuffling around 

And hiding , seeing 

Her face made me spellbound. 

It was burnt, burnt all over 

But her smile, 

Had all of it cover. 

Ostensibly the scar on her face 

Was the acid thrown, 

That couldn't take away her grace. 

She was beautiful than I can ever tell

On seeing their bond, 

I realized it's the heart where the true love dwell. 

Those were two souls that met

No better love story than this, 

In the world can you get. 

They're going away smiling ear to ear 

This love is rare and deep, 

Can I ever find this was my only fear. 

Standing there with just one thought

We can still find love, 

As not all humanity has yet been lost. 

They say and ONLY say.

Let's end the hatred in this world 

They say, 

But won't hesitate to spread it in the name of religion anyway. 

Let's not be homophobic towards anybody

They say, 

But will themselves call a weak guy a gay. 

Let's not body-shame people

They say, 

But will make fun of their fat classmate all day. 

Let's not abuse animals 

They say , 

But will start eating pork from the first ray. 

Let's not be sexists 

They say, 

But will assume every guy only wants from them is a lay. 

Dogs are better than humans 

They say, 

But will never adopt a stray. 

Everyone is equal and should be treated equally 

They say, 

But won't fight for equal work-equal pay. 

Don't be depressed, can share everything with us

They say, 

But won't have time to listen and stay. 

Heartbreaks are really bad 

They say, 

But other's feelings are their favorite game to play. 

Being antisocial is not an option 

They say, 

But when it comes to helping others they will say, nay! 

Save the planet

They say , 

But will throw reusable items away. 

Hey! hey! hey! 

Let's stop saying and start doing things 

And first of all try to become human beings. 

Animal abuse

Dogs! The most faithful and loving creatures on this planet that would love you till eternity if you feed them once or even pat them lovingly.Yet we humans ,the most intelligent beings,never fail to show our utmost cruelty and disregard towards them.

 

I know,most of you are aware of the problems they face and the drastic conditions they live in. But all of us gleefully and recklessly turn a blind eye on them and call ourselves true dog-lovers by choosing to love only cute or good looking dogs. We humans are unbelievable. We have put racism in this too. We choose to spend thousands of rupees to buy a dog even though we have an option of adopting one. But we don't find them adorable enough to let them inside our house. Do you know where they end up if not adopted? Either they stay on the streets where they continuously have to protect themselves from vehicles,starvation and us or they end up at somebody's plate.

Dog breeders treat these animals like shit. They don't see them as individuals but only as money-making machines. They are not given any love Or care and are confined to filthy places smaller than their own bodies. They are not given proper food, water or even sanitation. They live their life amid their own body waste, agonizing infections and deadly parasites. They go through extreme distress and suffering. The bitches are forced to reproduce until their bodies become impoverished and no longer remain useful for these breeders. These are then thrown on the streets or some government hospital. 

This is a picture of dogs being transported from West Bengal to Nagaland for their meat because people there have eaten all the dogs of their state. And now they want more. In China, people celebrate Yulin dog-meat festival where about 10000 dogs are eaten annually along with cats. In fact dog killing is a very normal thing there. Around 10 to 20 millions are killed for human consumption. 

According to PETA Asia eye witness investigation, dogs are bludgeoned and cruelly killed in China for their skins. The skin is turned into various leather products we use like gloves, wallets, belts toys etc. The conditions at the slaughter house are very horrifying. Workers grab them by their necks and bash wooden poles over their heads to make them unconscious. Then they slit their throats and their skins are ripped off of their bodies. This happen in numbers ranging from 100 to 200 dogs a day. What can we do on our part? Just like we banned apps from China we should also ban buying leather products because these animals are not ours to kill or torture. 

I wanted to cover all the animals but would do it next time. No animal deserves our exploitation. They have right to live too and we should stop this animal abuse and stand up against it whenever we see it around. 

And if you're planning to own a pet please do consider adopting it than buying it from dog breeders because even dog breeders exploit these animals for better income. And every time we buy one from a breeder, a stray dog is denied access to a better life.
