According to a survey of 1000+ boys at different institutions, the main problem boys go through was found to be ; loneliness. They mostly have nobody to share their problems . When asked about it they said if they'll share it with friends they would say -" kya ladkiyo jaise rota rehta h ", (stop crying like a girl) . They cannot share it with their families because obviously , having emotions is not manly enough . So, they cry alone at nights inside their rooms or would go to some secluded place away from human presence as there always remains a fear of judgement inside their hearts . They can't play with dolls or teddy bears because cars and robots are meant for them . They cannot like pink colour or put make up because that would make them girly . ( In India , that would probably make them chakka .) Not only this, they face physical, verbal and sexual abuse too .They even have to go through a lot of fake allegations like fake rape cases, dowry cases, eve teasing and all that. I ain't saying that every case is fake but some of them really are which results in extreme mental trauma on their minds which in most cases lasts a lifetime. Do you know In 2016, as per World Health Organization (WHO), there were an estimated 793,000 suicide deaths worldwide. Most were men . The key element was : communication. Women are more likely to share their emotions whereas guys tend to bottle them up. Men are conditioned from their childhood that crying is for weak .So why are they facing all this discrimination? Because of people around them. Because of our society and Us. So what can we do to make this better? . It is really simple. We just have to stop assigning gender roles to people and letting them live their lives peacefully doing whatever they like to do without judging them. For bringing a change we'll have to make having emotions and crying a gender neutral subject. We'll have to become good listeners for all the genders . Let's be good peers, friends , partners, parents and most importantly humans and bring equality for all genders.
Love ❤
